FINEST invites for the first FINEST FORUM#1 under the theme “Beyond Recycling”.
The event will include keynotes from renowned experts in the field of circular economy and/or transfer, followed by plenary discussions with stakeholders from industry, academia, authorities, politics, etc.

Hosted by TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the fifth Project Meeting gathered the entire FINEST team to have an intense scientific exchange.
A. Schulze responsible for the Helmholtz Sustainability Challenge at the Helmholtz Association was present online on the first day as well, and informed himself on the advances made by FINEST.

The second day’s highlight was the first FINEST Science Slam, in which all PhD candidates took part and performed very well.

On day three the focus was on Life Cycle Assessment: the PhD candidates received a comprehensive lecture and seminar from Prof. Simon Glöser-Chahoud and his research assistants.

The fourth project meeting was held in Rossendorf at HZDR’s campus.

The FINEST team exchanged on the current scientific advances and the on-going and planned transfer activities. A reasonable part of the meeting was dedicated to discuss beyond the individual SP in order to foster more collaboration.

In addition, the PhD candidates had the chance to giove their perspectives on the FINEST REsearch School, and gave input for further topical foci in the coming terms.

Stefan Dirlich has been present at the Helmholtz Sustainability Summit.

Also, FINEST had a booth with informative objects dealing with the recovery of ultrafine particles. Key message is that these should be kept in the loop for a more sustainable circular economy.
